I. Praise for the Father's mercy. (3-5)
     A. New Birth
     B. Living Hope
     C. Secure Inheritance
     D. Reserved in Heaven
     E. Surrounded by God's Power
II. Praise for the Father's trials. (6-9)
     A. The trials are temporary.
     B. The trials come in various forms. They are matched by god's grace and strength.
     C. The trials are trials. They are difficult.
     D. The trials serve the Father's purpose.
     E. The trials bring about the Father's intended result.
     F. There is joy in the trials.
III. Praise for the Father's revelation (10-12)
     A. Through faithful prophets.
     B. Through faithful preachers.

Hebrews 13:12-19 - identify with Christ (1 Peter 3:13), not holding on to temporary things (2 Corinthians 4:16), the fruit is our praise, "our praise completes the joy" the joy of Christ should exude from us.
