Strange Blessedness

January 19, 2020 Pastor: Don Whipple Series: The Sermon on the Mount

Scripture: Matthew 5:1–5:6

According to the dictionary, you can use the word strange to describe something that is different from the usual, ordinary or expected.  That makes strange a great word to describe the list of people Jesus declares blessed in Matthew 5.  Let's look at the strange ways of life that we are called to as members of Christ's kingdom.

The poor in spirit.  (5:3)

     spiritually bankrupt

Those who mourn.  (5:4)

     appopriately sad
