From Bitterness to Blessing

May 11, 2014

Scripture: Ruth 1:1–1:22

This all takes place in the context of Judges 21:25 (probably during Gideon's ministry)
I. Naomi's Bitterness
     A. Dearth
     B. Death
     C. Desperation
     D. Despair
     E. Deceit
Paul's response in Acts 16:25-30. He wasn't bitter.
II. Naomi's Blessings
     A. Friendship
     B. Faithfulness
     C. Favor
          1. God's Providence
          2. God's Provider (Boaz, 2:19)
          3. God's Provision (child born!)
          4. God's Plan (David's great grandmother, Matthew 1)

Next Steps:
Exhort one another every day, as long as it is called 'today':
     • To Repent! God doesn't save us so we can be proud.
     • To Reconcile!
     • To Remind!
     • To Rise Up!
In ALL our circumstances of life faithfully rejoice in your heart of the blessings of the Gospel.
