And God spoke all these words, saying,
"I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.”
“You shall have no other gods before me.”
Exodus 20:1-3
God, as he has revealed himself in his words and actions, deserves and requires exclusive loyalty. The first commandment clearly establishes that God will not share his glory, worship or honor with anyone or anything. Let’s explore what exclusive loyalty to God is and how it is modeled and experienced in Jesus Christ.
