How can we make our light shine to point people to Christ when we are being treated unjustly by those in authority in our work or business?  How do I live right and do good works that point people to God when my boss or employer is unfair or unjust?  In our passage Peter is helping us apply our verbal witness of proclaiming God's excellencies and our visual witness of honorable conduct and good works (9-12).  As with ungodly government leaders, it is possible and doable to suffer so Jesus is seen--even in the work and everyday world we find ourselves in.
