Pastor Tom Hopewell will be speaking at Bethel on October 20. He plans to preach from Psalm 121 connecting thoughts with Revelation 21.
After graduating from high school in New Jersey, Pastor Hopewell attended Cedarville University receiving a BA in History. Following that, he attended Baptist Bible Theological Seminary in Clarks Summit, PA, achieving a M.Div in 1978. While in seminary Tom met Jane who was working as a physical therapist. They were married in 1978. After a year on the staff at Cedarville University, he was Assistant Pastor at Southgate Baptist Church in Springfield, Ohio. Tom and Jane then moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana to take a position on the faculty of Blackhawk Christian. After 22 years at Blackhawk the Lord led them to come to Bethel where Tom served as senior pastor.
The Hopewell’s served at Bethel from February of 2009 to November of 2018. They have two children, Matthew and Angela. Only 4 months after coming to Bethel, the Lord took Angela home to Heaven at the age of 21. Their son Matthew and his wife Lindsay live in Noblesville and have two boys, Cassius (4) and Ozzie (2). They cherish the privilege the Lord has given them to invest in the lives of their precious grandsons as they care for them each day while Matthew and Lindsay carry out their work responsibilities.
