The Great Commission seems like a BIG task – and it most certainly is! There is a reason Jesus commanded His disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit before they were to go into all the world (Acts 1:4). Do you, as a Christian, feel small in the whole scheme of things? Do you feel where God has you is insignificant to what God is doing to bring about all things to where the whole earth is filled with the glory of God? The Bible has good news for us when we see things this way. We have a BIG GOD! Because our BIG GOD is immanent in human affairs, no one who is set apart unto Him is common. No place where set apart people are is common. Therefore, there are no little people and no little places.

This year our missions conference theme is, No Little People, No Little Places. The theme is borrowed from a series of messages that the late Francis Schaeffer preached at L’Abri (a place he and his wife Edith established for discipleship in the Swiss Alps). As we anticipate this year’s conference, would you consider…

Marking your calendars in order to plan on attending the events of the missions conference. Sunday, March 2 during Sunday School, we will learn about Bible Translation and its place in the Great Commission from guest speaker Bethany Ingram with Bible’s International. Saturday, March 8, Bethel will host a breakfast and hear from Carl Lendermon who is vice president of Slavic Baptist Institute who ministered in Ukraine. Sunday, March 9, Wayne and Susie Vanderwier, our partners with Biblical Counseling Ministries Worldwide will be with us to give us a report in Sunday School. Wayne will also preach that Sunday morning as well. Look out for more details in the days to come.

Praying asking God to work in your life individually and stir our hearts corporately for the mission’s task Jesus has given us.
